Panorama (hand stitched)  for inclusion as web banner. This panorama has to be 360 degrees.

Location

 Me and Rebecca took out the panorama tripod and so we decided to go at the top of hill to get a looking down shot of the city. We took several shots because it was also a HDR panorama. I decided to use here as I've also used this location to photograph in preciously. 

Problems

I stood on top of this hill and looked around the landscape to imagine the 360 panorama. The cloud cover kept changing and so I was worried this may cause problem with ghosting. The is a optical illusion because there is a distance shot and then it points towards the houses which are very close to where we were standing and so caused a curving effect.

There is a nice pond as well that will be in the of the photo and farm housing.

HDR

I am requested to take 2 x Night and 2x day (different images) HDR images on a single theme display.

What is HDR?

Is it short for High-dynamic-range images.

TEST:

From the tutorial above I put the same setting on my Canon camera and decided to test it out. I used a Banana at home to get a sense of how HDR work.

As you can see the colour is much richer in the composition.

My First HDR:

This is the first HDR I actually took outside, however this was a Fail. There is some ghosting some flare and the it wasn't bright enough I think in this case I could have gone +/-3 not +/-2 maybe it would have given a different affect.  

I fond that taking HDR photos were really difficult because of the weather, it rained for weeks straight and there was no overcast day. However i was fortunate to get up early and take some day photos that had enough light:

City Scape

Cityscape for a promotional website.

A cityscape is an artistic representation, such as a painting or photograph, of a city.
There are lots of opportunity to take good cityscapes. However cityscapes don't have to be at a looking down point, many of my classmates took a cityscape from a hilltop. I however have seen photographers take cityscapes at different angles. I also realized that some have taken city scape in the day but i choose to take one in the night.

Commercial studio product shot (x5) on a single theme for a commercial website.

There are many things I could use for these shots. I want to use something colourful and interesting.

I have decided to go for the figurines. I've got a lot of figurines that I can use, and they are all related to a theme (AFRICA) so it will be interesting to see how I can shot them. Some of them may give a shadow and so I will have to look at the positioning of the bottles so I can edit it later.

In class we have talked about and been shown how to take product shots.

I am going to be taking these studio portraits of my sister. I am still not sure what type of shots I will decide to do. I will need to research and prepare for it in advance.

Research
After my basic research above I came to the idea of doing black and white portraiture photos. I wanted something with a bit of depth, dark and emotional.

Lighting
I didn't do any research for the lighting. we had a class tutorial on how the lighting works and the settings, so I felt comfortable in setting it up and taking the shots the way I wanted. 

I also plan to experiment with the lighting, in order to come up with interesting shots.

What I need to consider

Temperature:-

• Under the lights it may get very hot in there.
• Don't touch the lights, they get very hot!

Setting up:-

• Its going to take a long time to set up the lighting and the back drop.
• Need to book equipment and room in advance.

Direction:-

• I need to make sure that I get the shots I want and so will need to direct the person on which way to sit and look

Clothing:-

• Need a spare change of clothes for my sister to change into as she will be coming straight form school in a school uniform.

I went with the saying " see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" as i saw it on a fridge magnet. I decided this would be interesting to recreate, and since i was gonna do black and white photography it would hopefully give some depth and emotion.

In the studio I set the lighting to 2 point, however this was too bright and I wanted some shadow of the face. So then I set it to one light , and it was still to bright. I turned down the setting to around 3.0 and it gave a really good effect.

Stop Motion

Research and produce a still image sequence that when edited functions as simple stop frame animated video sequence for a commercial website.

Research

Luckily enough I have done a lot of research previously on stop frame animation as I was looking at doing one myself a few years ago. 

This is a animation for the brand ASIC, there used origami for this. I thought it was a good idea for me to use at a basic level as I have never done a stop motion before. 

Lego animation a few people have done stop motion with lego, I think this would be a good place to start.

Jigsaw puzzles are also a good idea to use for a stop motion.

As the brief states, this animation only need to be simple. It’s going to short only seconds. I decided to go with the idea of an animation of making an origami, though at this point I wasn’t sure as to what animal or object I should make. Some origami can be complex and hard to make so I want to go with something easy and able to make. I will set up the camera on a tripod high above a table. With the camera pointing down I’ll make three pieces of the same object together one step at a time. Each piece that is put back I will take a photo, not moving the tripod or camera at all. 

  

I’m happy with the outcome of my small animation. It’s simple and it was my first animation I had done. The animation flows smoothly and at the right pace, each image is at length of 0:30 seconds. When I began to make the origami it moved a lot this wasn’t a massive problem but in some of the frames it shows the massive difference. To put the animation together I used After effects because of the timeframe i then rendered it and if needed to speed or slow the animation in Premiere.
